Would you speak out if you knew Her Majesty Revenue and Customs had misused thousands of pounds of public funds to charge you with being an extremist for heckling the British National Party at a peaceful protest in Burnley? Would you refuse to drop your case with the Civil Service Commissioners if you were warned by HMRC you would be sacked if you did not? If your wondering why I did then perhaps when you've read these internal letters, reports, and e-mails you’ll understand.

E-mail from Scott Turner (HMRC) to Carol Oakey (HMRC) dated 12 September, 2005, arguing that the department is not fulfilling its duty of care by allowing me to e-mail Francine Pugh, Tony Smith and other staff asking what is extremist about heckling the British National Party (BNP) (The actual e-mail I sent is below this e-mail) after Smith had used internal grievances procedures to complain he saw me on television heckling the BNP and I was an extremist. Also note Carol Oakey’s e-mail to Francine Pugh on the same day and Francine Pugh’s e-mail to Janet Gilpin on the 17 October, 2005, which the department blacked out, (wonder why!) and Janet Gilpin’s e-mail to Tina Gallagher (HMRC) on the 18 October, 2005.
